Instagram the social media network that many youngsters find very addictive, has over 400 million monthly active users, and over 3.5 billion likes daily. Insane numbers right? Well, if you're thinking of including Instagram in your marketing strategy, then you're definitely going to want to take note of these top tips. As you've most likely already guessed or even experienced yourself, getting lots of engagement on a social networking site that has over 80 million photos uploaded each day can be quite tough. Lucky for you, I'm about to give away some of my top tips for getting engagement and also a few extra followers along the way. Don't Forget Hashtags: "Use hashtags", yeah a lot of people always say about this one. Why? Because lots of brands still post without including them Hashtags are free, they are very useful and can definitely drive a lot of engagement to your content – so make use of them! By using hashtags your content will be seen by others who search or click on that specific hashtag. Whilst this can be hard for your content to stand out against the rest, the more eye-catching and engaging your content is, the better it will perform. Engage With Others: Engage! People will engage with your content by leaving a like or even dropping a comment and maybe even giving you a follow, so why not do the same? You should find content that is similar to yours and engage with it. Simply leaving a "like" or a comment on the post can be enough for that user to check your profile out and start to engage with you, and potentially even end up following you. Use Locations: When you upload an image or video to Instagram, you can add a location to your content. This allows users to discover your content along with other content that has been taken at the same location tagged. Sharing Content: It's great to share your own content, but you should also mix it up with some UGC (User Generated Content) in other words, sharing other people's content on your own account but crediting them back. You could repost a quote, a stunning beach etc, of course if it's suitable for your audience and fits in with your content. Below is an example of when I reposted Arvin's quote on my own Instagram and added some more text in the description whilst crediting him. https://www.instagram.com/p/BFFCJgRqu2V/ By reposting other people's content and crediting them back, it can help with increasing relationships with influencers and other social media users. You may also pick up a few extra followers too. So there you go, that's 4 simple quick tips that you can apply to your Instagram marketing right away and start to see your engagement increase.
